2 cups rinsed brown rice, uncooked
½ chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
½ green bell pepper, diced
½ red pepper, diced
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon paprika
1 ½ teaspoon salt
4 cups water
Optional: a handful of defrosted green peas
Mix all ingredients.
Cook in a rice pot (rice cooker). If using a regular cooking pot, bring water to a boil, add all ingredients, cover, and cook on a lower heat for about 40 – 50 minutes.
Add defrosted peas if desired, near the end of cooking, just to heat them up.
