Garbanzo-Rice Patties

Ingredients:

1 ¼ cups (soaked at least 8 hours in generous amount of water) garbanzo beans

1 ½ cups cooked, salted brown rice

¼ cup plus 3 tablespoons of water

1/3 cup chopped nuts

3 tablespoons yeast flakes

1 1/2 tablespoons vegan chicken-style seasoning

¼ teaspoon salt (optional)

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:

Discard the water beans soaked in  and blend beans in the fresh water (the amount listed) until quite smooth.

Mix all ingredients in bowl.

Form into patties, one-half inch thick, three inches in diameter.

Baked on an oiled cookie sheet at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes, turn over and baked an additional 15 minutes.

Yield: 10-12 patties
