2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
1/4 cup organic sugar
2 1/2 cups organic cornmeal
1 cup organic whole wheat flour
1 cup organic white flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold-pressed oil
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Mix together the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let it bubble up.
Mix the flours and salt together, then work in the oil thoroughly.
Add the yeast mixture to the dry and mix only enough to combine the ingredients evenly.
Pour into a well-oiled 9” x 13” pan. Let it rise about 15 minutes or until the batter rises to the edge of the pan. When the cornbread is ready to bake then turn the oven down to 350 degrees F and bake 45 minutes or until golden brown.
